Crossbody Bags

Hands-free crossbodies, a sling and a belt bag, each with an RFID pocket and steel-reinforced strap.

Fourteen crossbody styles, from the Go Anywhere Belt Bag for phone, cards and keys to the Logan Anti-Theft Messenger, which is sized for an iPad and passport. Every one has an RFID-blocking pocket, a steel cable in the strap and a light-coloured recycled lining.

Size is the main difference. Soho is compact, Camden sits flat against the body, and Florence and Crescent have room for a water bottle. Aspen Max expands with a zip. Luna looks like an everyday handbag with a zippered flap, and the Go Sling is a lighter option for errands and airport days.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a crossbody bag and a sling?

A sling is usually smaller and worn higher, across the chest, sized for a phone, cards and a passport. A crossbody hangs lower at the hip and holds a day's worth of things. The Go Sling at 1.1L and 269g is a sling; the Luna, Florence and Crescent are crossbodies.

How heavy is a crossbody bag?

The bags in this range weigh between 0.27kg and 0.51kg empty. That matters more than it sounds: the bag hangs from one shoulder all day, so an extra 100g of empty weight is felt by the evening. Check the weight alongside the capacity rather than after it.

Are these crossbody bags anti-theft?

Most of them are, with lockable zips, a slash-resistant body and an RFID-blocking pocket. The Go Sling, Go Anywhere Belt Bag and some of the smaller styles vary, so check the individual product page. Those features reduce the chance of an opportunistic theft; they do not make a bag theft-proof.

Choosing a crossbody bag

Why crossbody at all

A crossbody strap runs over one shoulder and across the body, which does two things: it spreads the weight so a loaded bag does not drag on one shoulder, and it keeps the bag where you can see it. For travel and crowded places, being able to bring the bag round to the front without taking it off is the practical advantage over a shoulder bag or a backpack.

By size, smallest first

Weight is the specification people forget

Most of this range sits between 0.27kg and 0.51kg empty. That sounds trivial until it hangs off one shoulder for eight hours. A 100g difference between two bags is roughly the difference between a comfortable day and a sore neck, and it is worth more attention than an extra pocket.

Security, where it applies

Most of this range is from the anti-theft line, with lockable zips, slash-resistant bodies and an RFID-blocking pocket. Those features reduce opportunity rather than guarantee safety, and they work best combined with wearing the bag in front of you in a crowd.
