Laptop Bags
Backpacks, satchels, messengers and convertibles with padded sections for 13, 15 and 17 inch laptops.
Eight bags with a padded place for your laptop. The Billy Laptop Messenger takes a 13 inch machine, while the George Classic Laptop Satchel and Hampton Slim Laptop Briefcase take a 15 inch laptop plus a tablet, with water-repellent outers and vegan leather trim. Hampton adds an RFID pocket and stays open at 90 degrees as a workstation.
Backpack options include the Commuter Laptop Backpack with an external USB port and a fixed combination lock, the Commuter Trolley Backpack on wheels, and the Voyager Anti Theft Backpack with a dedicated tech section. Trinity and Bukbagz convert between carry styles.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What size laptop bag do I need?
Measure your laptop in the case you carry it in, then match that to the bag's published compartment size rather than to your laptop's advertised screen size. This range covers up to 13 inches (Billy Laptop Messenger), up to 15 inches (Hampton, George, Bukbagz, Trinity) and up to 17 inches (both Commuter packs and the Road Warrior Backpack).
Backpack or briefcase for a laptop?
A backpack spreads weight across both shoulders and leaves your hands free, which matters on longer walks and public transport. A slim briefcase or satchel is easier in formal settings and takes up less space beside you when seated, but puts the load on one shoulder. If you carry a laptop plus a day's other things, the backpack is usually the more comfortable choice.
Do these bags protect a laptop if I drop it?
The padded compartments cushion the knocks of normal handling, not a fall onto a hard floor. No bag here is sold as drop protection. For an expensive or fragile machine, keep it in the cabin rather than checked luggage and treat the padding as everyday cushioning rather than insurance.
Carrying a laptop
Match the compartment, not the brand's screen size
Published laptop capacities describe the padded compartment. A 15-inch laptop in a rugged case can be physically larger than a bare 16-inch machine, so the number on your laptop's spec sheet is not always the number that matters. Measure the machine as you actually carry it, case included.
By carrying style
- Backpacks: Commuter Laptop Backpack (up to 17 inches, 18.9L, 1.03kg) and Commuter Trolley Backpack (up to 17 inches, with wheels). Weight on both shoulders, hands free.
- Briefcase and satchel: Hampton Slim Laptop Briefcase and George Classic Laptop Satchel, both up to 15 inches. Slim enough to carry alone or slide inside a larger bag.
- Messenger: Billy Laptop Messenger, up to 13 inches, for a small machine and not much else.
- Convertible: Bukbagz and the 3 in 1 Trinity, both up to 15 inches, switching between backpack and crossbody as the day requires.
Airport security
At most Australian airports a laptop comes out of the bag at screening. A bag with a laptop section that opens independently of the main compartment saves unpacking everything in the queue. The Road Warrior Backpack and both Commuter packs are built this way.
Padding is not the same as protection
A padded sleeve cushions knocks in normal handling. It will not save a laptop from a heavy drop onto a hard floor, and no bag in this range claims otherwise. If a machine is genuinely fragile or expensive, carry it in the cabin rather than checking it, whatever bag it is in.
