Measured, not estimated

Luggage, packing gear and footwear for Australian travellers

We publish the manufacturer's external dimensions on every case we stock, measured the way an airline measures them, with wheels and handles included. You find out what fits at home rather than at the gate.

Shop luggage

An Australian shop that tells you the measurements

Most luggage is sold on a photograph and a capacity figure. That is not enough to answer the only question that matters at an airport, which is whether the bag will be allowed on the aircraft. So we publish the specification the manufacturer publishes: external dimensions including wheels and handles, empty weight, and capacity in litres, on every case in the range.

It cuts both ways, and we have left it that way. Three of the bags we sell as carry-on do not meet the 56 x 36 x 23cm limit that Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia all publish. The Glide Carry-On Pro is 2cm too wide. The Metro Carry-On Duffle and Commuter Trolley Backpack are each 1cm too deep. Our guide to Australian carry-on limits lists them alongside the ones that fit, because finding out at the boarding gate costs money.

Alongside the travel range we stock footwear and apparel from 23 brands in women's, men's and kids' sizing. We are an independent retailer, not an authorised stockist or agent for any of those brands, and we say so on every page rather than implying a relationship we do not have.

Glide Elite, top-opening

Opens in the space it already occupies

A clamshell case needs about twice its own footprint of floor to open, which is more than most hotel rooms offer. Glide Elite cases fold the lid back over one deep cavity instead, so you pack from above, in layers, in the space the case is already standing in.

Packing organisation

Compression only helps with the right clothes

The second zip on a compression cube forces out trapped air, so jumpers, fleece and t-shirts lose real volume. Jeans, chinos and shoes contain almost no air and barely move. Worth knowing before you buy a set and fill it with denim.

Anti-theft bags

What the features actually do

Lockable zips stop a bag being opened quietly while you wear it. Slash-resistant panels resist a blade across the fabric. RFID pockets shield cards from close-range reading. None of it stops a determined thief, and we will not tell you otherwise.
