Rinse salt and sand off after the beach. Both are abrasive, and both work into the join between footbed and sole where they grind away quietly until the bond gives up.
Dry them in the shade rather than on a hot surface. Left on concrete in summer sun, moulded footbeds can distort, and a distorted footbed does not return to shape.
