Track and fleece-backed pants are warmer and slower to dry than woven ones. For travel and cool mornings that is the useful direction; for anything where you will sweat, a woven fabric is the more comfortable choice.
Check the pockets before you buy if you carry a phone. Open side pockets and zipped pockets are quite different propositions on public transport or at training.
