Cotton tees shrink slightly on their first hot wash, and the shrinkage is mostly in length. Washing cold and drying flat or on a line keeps the shape you bought for longer than a tumble dryer will.
Printed graphics last longest turned inside out in the wash, dried away from direct sun and never ironed directly on the print. Most print failures are heat damage rather than wear.
